Punter’s Shed, Avon River, Christchurch, New Zealand, November, 2016
I love the concept of punting. In Australia it is not a pastime that you see very often, if at all. In certain climates, I’m inclined to think that it would be one of the most pleasant jobs a person could have. Of course I am ignoring the physicality and having to put up with annoying tourists. Still, sailing up and down the river side all day would be idyllic.
When I was last in Christchurch I went punting on the Avon. The boat shed in which all the young chaps that row the boats hang out was one of my favourite sights. All their uniforms hanging so neatly in a row was reminiscent of a bygone era.
